Lemming-like, I post. Ganked from
rurounitriv
1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next 3 sentences on your blog along with these instructions.
5. Don't you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I
know you were thinking about it! Just pick up whatever is closest.
'I must tell you,' said Tripitaka, 'that I was admitted to the Order almost as soon as I left my mother's womb, and have never in my life indulged in meats of this kind.' The hunter thought for a while. 'My family,' he said at last, 'has on the contrary for generations past been accustomed to eat meat.'
Good thing I brought this book up to the ref desk - the next closest book is the phone book, and that would have been much more boring.

So here goes, with the second nearest book:
"It's odd, but being insulted by a flickering specter or being called names by a fiery winged serpent isn't half as annoying for a hardened magician as hearing it from the mouth of something that seems to be human. Don't ask me why. It's just something to do with the way people's minds work."

Secondly my bit:
The howl immediately began to fade, as if whatever or whoever had made it were fleeing at an unimaginable rate. "What was that?" Kalten exclaimed.

Since I'm at work, you all get:
"The court of appeals may undertake review and approval of a settlement with the objector, perhaps as part of appeal settlement procedures, or may remand to the district court to take advantage of the district court's familiarity with the action or settlement.
"Subdivision (g). Subdivision (g) is new. It responds to the reality that the selection and activity of class action counsel are often critically important to the successful handling of a class action."

(okay so it's not three sentences, but really, what do you expect from "The Synonym Finder". My hands were getting tired, and that was only end of the first entry for blunder, there were two more that were longer...)

A recipe book probably isn't good to quote from. There's lots fo lists in it. And for manga, many of the pages don;t even have five sentences. And then there's The Synonym Finder. Which I now can;t post because you already did. XD

Sorry for making it difficult for you!

It's the Haley translation, which means that it's nicely readable, but he seemed to translate chapters on a whim, so there's a lot of adventures he left out, I am givne to understand from the introduction.I can't really fiure out his criteria for translating them, but the CHinese man who wrote the intro says that he agrees with Haley's choices, although he hopes that in the future he'll issue a fully-translated version because some of his favorite tales as a boy are in the untranslated chapters. :D
It's known in China as Monkey, apparently, and that's what the version I've got is titled.

'What?'
'That's what I said - "What"? Good God!' cried Chuffy, and I dare say he quivered from head to foot, but I couldn't see properly, it being too dark.

Lucky I'm about to go read this, otherwise I'd be keying in something in Korean.

どうやら牛乳とりんごは、彼にとって特別な意味を持つ食物であるらしい。レジに向かうが、通りがかりにビリールパックに入ってはんぺんを目にとめ、ひとつてに取る。袋の隅に印刷された賞味期限を調べてから、かごに入れる。
...what, you didn't want that *translated* or anything, did ya? ;)
whoops, left out a pronoun
"It seemed as though milk and apples were foods that held a special meaning for him. Across from the register, his eye in passing fell upon fish cakes that were in plastic containers, and he picked one up. After checking the expiration date written on the side, he put it in his basket."
...well, wasn't that exciting. >XD

"Gladia raised one hand. Undoubtedly, she was under observation, for, in a moment, a robot moved in noiselessly, with a glass of water on a tray and a small dish of what looked like crackers with a pinkish blob on each.
Bailey could not forbear taking one, even though he was not certain what it might be."
Much more interesting than three entries under the beauty section of the yellow pages. We also lucked out that this particular book was misplaced into the 'S' section of my bookshelf, because the entry of the book next to it was rather dull.

"You have a young man, Tiffany. He sends you letters and packages. You go into Lancre Town every week to send letters to him."
Only three sentances? You'll hate me when you figure this out.
