I am merely 20, it seems.

And now I feel slightly ill from listening to those.

You are about 20 years old
The teen repellent will no longer foil you, but you can still hear some pretty high tones.

The highest pitched ultrasonic mosquito ringtone that I can hear is 16.7kHz
Find out which ringtones you can hear!

I could hear the one over that one still, and hear the one above that if I was listening really closely. Up until the next to last one, I could tell when they stopped and started, but not actually hear them. I kinda wonder how I'd have done with something other than my comp's crap built-in speakers.

Now, if you'll excuse me, my ear drums have to go implode and my stomach turn inside out. Uuuugh.

LIke you, up until the next to last one, I could hear when they stopped and started, but not the tone itself. I was using earbuds, since I'm on my work computer.

If I remember when I get home I'll try them on my cat, because I am evil and want to watch her freak out. XD

I decided to be masochist and try with earbuds, and yeah, the same. And now my stomach and ears really hate me.

If I remember when I get home I'll try them on my cat, because I am evil and want to watch her freak out. XD

Also? You are full of wrong. Good on ya. ;D

:D

I think that I could tell when people were using them as ringtones if I were a teacher: walking around and all of a sudden I feel ill for no reason whatsoever? "Hey! You! Turn that phone off!"

*lol* Yup.

Admittedly those last few are faint to my ear, but I can still hear 'em, and can distinguish between higher and lower tones. That last one on the page, though, sounds like nothing at all.

LOL....I guess that supports the "bitch" theory... XD

I could hear all except the last perfectly fine.

Thing is, this isn't a very valid test, because .mp3s have severe dropoff above around 16Khz. They'll play higher tones but not very well, and above 20K or so, all you get are the harmonics - assuming that isn't being filtered out by your player software. I know from somewhat better testing that my hearing drops off around 20K, so I picked the appropriate selection here:

You aren't even a teenager yet!
Your hearing rules! You're either quite young or you've looked after your ears.

The highest pitched ultrasonic mosquito ringtone that I can hear is 19.9kHz

...but as far as this test goes, I'm more the Easily Repelled Teenager.
