I think that I could tell when people were using them as ringtones if I were a teacher: walking around and all of a sudden I feel ill for no reason whatsoever? "Hey! You! Turn that phone off!"

Admittedly those last few are faint to my ear, but I can still hear 'em, and can distinguish between higher and lower tones. That last one on the page, though, sounds like nothing at all.
