my cat is weird...

...but, then that's normal.

Why does she like all these BPAL scents enough to try to lick them, but won't touch meat? (Other than pork, which makes her throw up.) CAT I DO NOT UNDERSTAND YOU.

ETA kittyspam.

If I look close enough, I think I can see the Horsehead Nebula.

Oooh, cool eyes!

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2006-04-17 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
They've never done quite that before. I know the stripe over on her left eye (our right) is a hair or somethign stuck on her eye, because it's visible in other pictures from other angles. Doesn't seem to bother her, though. Huh.

I have this strange conviction that your cat is named Spam*. Please tell me this is not so.

* Fostered, not doubt, by your "kittyspam" tags and cut tags. And by my my failure to recall you refering to her by name.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2006-04-17 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
Hee. :D No, her name is technically "Nefer," but it doesn't fit and hasn't stuck. She thinks her name is "Kitty." She will actually answer to Kitty. Well, half the time. "Kitty" will make her prick her ears and flip her tail, even if she won't open her eyes, and I have witnessed her turn around and look at me and even at time come over to me if I call "Kitty."

Maybe she considers it short for Neferkiti. XD

Our cat is named Cate, but only responds to Kitty or Catie Cat. Silly creature.

I just tested - I called "Spam!" No reaction. I called "Kitty!" Tail flip.

That's a relief. I think. (My friend Anne had a cat named Cat.)

They're full of stars!

Very cool!

Does she like starchy foods, too? My cat won't touch meat, either, but let her smell potato chips, french fries, tortillas, or even Kashi or Cap'n Crunch -- she goes nuts. One night she stole a mint milano cookie off my saucer and had eaten a tiny bit of it before I caught her.

She pretty much ignores the BPAL, though.

She likes starchy foods more than anything else - she deigns to eat a wee bit of a french fry, and I think her favorite food is stale dust-covered taco chips ferreted out from behind a speaker where they've been for months. But there's nothing consistent about it. She's very interested in whatever I make in the kitchen, but once I let her smell it, she wanders off.

She'll drink tuna water, though, so if I make something with tuna, I drain it into a dish for her.
