BPAL sale post. :D

As I rambled about a bit in a previous entry, I ended up with more decants than I expected per scent - I'd thought I was going to get 2-3 extra per scent. I got 5-6. Woo. Anyway, this means they're up for sale to anyone who wants to try just a few scents.

This is going here in my journal for about 24 hours, then Friday night I'll post over in the alchemylab community.

*is compelled to go investigate the descriptions again, and the reviews (http://www.bpal.org/index.php?showforum=73)...*

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
:D I haven't done any official testing, but I rather like most of these. Ligeia seems to be the only one that made me go OH GOD NO, and most of the rest were "Hmmm. Interesting!" upon sniffing.

[identity profile] kintail.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
*notices your nick on the BPAL forums as I lurk as an unregistered guest* Hey! I noes you!

So far I'm thinking "The Premature Burial" but I'm only about half way through the reviews of the others...

Ooo. Actually... a friend (who's about to get a few of these as a gift) and I would like:

2 Montresor (3.50 x 2 = 7)
1 Fortunato (3.50)
1 Usher (3.50)
1 Gingerbread Poppet 2005 (3.50)
1 Madrid (2.00)

For $19.50 if my math's not on crack, and I'll do Paypal as soon as you confirm tomorrow, thanks! :)

[identity profile] frostedelves.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
Whoops, I see I just missed Madrid and Poppet. Still interested in the rest, though, please. :)

Is their one that is light enough to wear durring the day, to work?

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 01:59 pm (UTC)(link)
All the Maelstrom scents are blending together in my mind now, and I'm at work now so I can't double-check, but going by the descriptions, Berenice is probably the lightest of the bunch. Morella could be, but it's got a dangerous touch of civet, which is a note that people tend to love or despise. Ligeia also might be, but I'm allergic to jasmine, so all I smell in it it OH GOD NOT JASMINE AGAIN.

Of the non-Maelstrom scents, Dorian is very light musks and tea, and Antique Lace is light linen and a faint milky scent. Veil is light florals and sandalwood.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 02:01 pm (UTC)(link)
* Although I just note that someone requested Dorian, so you can ignore that. :D

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 02:02 pm (UTC)(link)
* *And* Antique Lace! I should really double-check all the comments beofre recommending things...

In a few days or weeks I'll have another batch of imps up to sell - my to-be-tested pile is growing alarmingly and I need to sit down and test a bunch more. :D

[identity profile] cerusee.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 04:51 am (UTC)(link)
I'm interested in The Masque, The Tell-Tale Heart, Usher, and Antique Lace.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 02:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Sure! That's $12.50 to whichever of the Paypal addresses suits your method of payment (or whatever other method of payment works...) :D

I'd love a Montresor and Dorian -- even though I haven't worn perfume in months. Every so often I open my BPAL boxes, and each time the smell gets a little less revolting, so I am sure I'll be able to wear it all *sometime* again, once the hormones go back to normal.

There's no cash in my PayPal account at the moment, but I'm happy to do either credit card or mail you check/cash, whichever you prefer!

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 02:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Sure thing! $5.50, and I don't care which method - whatever's easiest. If you do credit card, that'll be the sfolse@cepheid.org address, if not, email me at telophase14@gmail.com and we'll swap addresses. :D

Hi, I'm in Australia and wondering if I can snag Usher and the Masque? Thanks!

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2006-04-08 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
Sure! If you could add an extra $1 for the shipping to Australia, that would be good. :D In which case, $8 to whichever of the two Paypal addresses works for you.

(IIRC, Customs to Australia is holding up shipments for tea, right? Is that for all food items, like candy, as well, do you know? I'll skip the freebies if it'll get the imps to you faster. :))

I have been sent by [livejournal.com profile] mscongeniality to indulge my nifty perfume fixation.

I would like one each of:
fortunato
the masque
montresor
The Pit & The Pendulum

which should be something on the order of $14, non?
Here's my ebay feedback (http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=argentarachnid&ssPageName=STRK:ME:UFS) to show I'm really good at buying things nicely.
