We're always having freak storms :D I sort of remember one from when I was a kid in the late 80's where the BBC weathermen said a gale was on the way but many people believed afterwards it was more like a mild hurricane. I think most of the south of the country was effected in some way, I know the next day all our garden fences had been knocked flat and my dad was a bit annoyed about it. :)

My biggest acquaintance with freak UK weather was the three weeks I spent in Shropshire working with teh Shropshire Archives for an internship. Mom came along, because she's an Anglophile, and we spent the week afterwards traveling. We were all excited that we were going to get out of Texas heat during the month of ...
