Kittyspam and apartment!

Let's all play "Find the Kitty Heating Pad"!!

Here's a clue: the cat's blissed-out expression:

"I can't believe you took this picture!" And little does she know that it's going out on the Internet! This is why you should never let someone you don't trust take nekkid photos of yourself.

Little pink tongue.

Suspicious kitty, no, I wouldn't dream of posting these pics on the Internet...

This is the cat engaging in one of her favorite pastimes - shredding paper. At least she's not shredding furniture.

Settling down for a rest after a good shred.

The pictures, newly framed and hung. The frames are a rich walnut instead of mahogany - not quite as red as I wanted, but my choice was mahogany-colored frames for $40 each or walnut-colored frames at $9 each. The color really is close to the flowers in their mouths as long as there's not, say, a camera flash or a long exposure illuminating them.

And the effect on the whole area:

This is what the seating area looks like now. I bought the big pillow covers in a Japanese hardware store in San Francisco, but never found pillows to fit them, so last night broke down and bought stuffing and just stuffed the covers. They zip shut, so it was easy. A wee bit lumpy, but sitting on them for a while should take care of them. :) The chair to the right won't be there permanently - it's getting moved back to the window area once I get all that junk cleared out of the way.

My friend Toby bought me a remote-controlled tank for Christmas/birthday, and I've been merrily terrorizing the cat ever since it got here. I have to take the batteries out when not using it because it's sensitive to random radio signals around here - while I was typing this post up, it turned itself on and started circling to the left.

And it'll look better if I clean the junk and trash out of the way! XD I've got the plastic from the pillow stuffing and the frames sitting on the floor, and some junk on the table that needs to find a home.

Beautiful cat!!! I never thought about giving a cat a heating pad, before. Hm. It's an idea, esp since I've made up my mind that I am going to "mother" my cat since she 1) was taken from mom too young and 2) sees me as her mom. Maybe a heating pad and a small vibrator (for purring) tucked into a towel together...

Thanks! :D I got my mom's cat a heating pad a couple of years ago because she slept on top of Mom, which made Mom's back hurt. Now she doesn't do that anywhere near as often. The one I got for her (and this month for my cat) is the Snuggle Safe Heating Pad (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00008AJH9/qid=1137274079/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_1/103-5146478-8768629?n=507846&s=home-garden&v=glance), because it's microwaveable. There's others that plug in, but I wouldn't feel right leaving a cat unsupervised with one of those since Mom's cat like to chew on phone cords and headphone cords. This one, you nuke it, cover it with a towel or cat bed to pad it a bit and keep the heat from being too intense (more encessary for disabled or elderly cats who can't move easily and might get overheated), and leave it alone. There's days when my cat is glued to it and won't leave, and days when she ignores it.

while I was typing this post up, it turned itself on and started circling to the left.

LOL...that sounds downright evil...then again, we have the same problem with our garage door. We'll walk out and find it magically open.

I may need to get one of those little pads for Gir when we move to Oregon...... XD

:D When I was a kid we had a remote-controlled lamp - the idea was that we were supposed to be able to turn it on when walking up to the steps of the house in the dark. Practically, it ended up turning itself on or off as oil trucks thundered down the road in front of our house. XD

The frames look great! And the cat looks silly. ^_^

Aww. Your cat is so cute. What's her name?

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2006-01-15 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
Her name is officially "Nefer," but in practice, it's "Kitty." She thinks her name is Kitty, and will actually, a good portion of the time, respond to it.

Nothing wrong with spoiling the kitty! :D And the pics look much better now.

I like the 3rd and 4th kitty pictures. I can just see the captions "This isn't what you think!" for the first and on the second "Maybe if I pretend to be dead no one will remember..."
