The Fridge Saga Continues

The place we called this weekend that worked on weekends didn't have an appointment open until today. Tech showed up, and it turns out that we have a Kenmore and also that Kenmore ties the compressor to the logic board, much like car key fobs are paired to the car so that you've got to go to the dealership to get a new one. He thinks the compressor should be under warranty, but he couldn't update the software on the board to match and the result is we had to call Kenmore and there's another tech coming out. Thursday.

So we just keep treating the freezer compartment as a cooler, mop up the melted ice, and add more ice bags as necessary for now. Bah.

Yeah, it's just tedious. Also, something deep in my brain is convinced that all the power is out since the fridge is dead despite ALL THE LIGHTS ON AROUND ME.

And yes, the ice bags leak so freaking much. (we had to do this when my parents' fridge went out while we visited in June.
