Ycon thoughts...

I brought the laptop down to the lobby to take advantage of the wireless to catc up on my email.. And it's balanced on my lap so my typing should be even worse than usual.

Ycon has been surprisingly normal-conlike so far, although there wasn't much happening today. The only difference is the lack of jailbait in skimpy costumes; the skimpy costumes (which aren't quite as prevalent as normal cons so far) are all being worn by girls of 18 or older.

All the guys who are going "EeeueEeuEuUueueuueewwwwwww!" Yaoi is GROSS!!!" every time Ycon is mentioned havne't thought through this. They don't realize how much booty the guys attending this con are getting. It's full of GIRLS who are READING and TALKING about PORN.

THINK ABOUT IT.

rachelmanija, oyceter, greenapple2004 and I sat in the bar for a while and talked about cracktastic manga series and theatre stories and stuff like that. I'd probably remember more of it at this minute, but I'm very sleepy.


rachelmanija, oyceter, and I ate at a WONDERFUL Chinese restaurant near the con hotel. Authentic enough that the menu was in Chinese and most of the restaurant guests were Chinese. And there was much food porn.

I probably have more thoughts, but not at the moment. I think I'm going to go back up to the room adn crash.

Yeah. The definition of "yaoi" is being stretched to the limit here - if there are two guys who look like they might potentially kiss, it's being called yaoi.

And any person with XY chromosomes is being called a bishie. I have heard that word applied to jsut about every guy here and ... they ain't bishounen. Not by a long shot. They're normal geeky fanboys.

No, no, you're missing the relevant bit. The guys don't have to look at the porn. The porn is making the girls hot-to-trot; all the guys have to do is show up halfway presentable and the girls are all over them. This con is like one giant mass of hormones, with the added advantage that none of it is jailbait.

Actually, someone commented in my LJ, and complained that somehow it had anonymized her, too, although she *was* logged in.

I went to make the comment, noticed that I wasn't logged in, and then loged in. The I went back to that comment and reloaded the page so that it showed I was logged in, and commented. Apparently that wasn't GOOD ENOUGH for LJ.

The majority of the guy attendees here are straight, I'm pretty sure: they're just ehre for the booty.
