Still here.

Just not wanting to post a lot. Not for any particular reason, it's just that everything happening is either (a) exchanges that aren't public yet so I can't talk about the art I've done for them, or (b) boring stuff like cleaning out the closets and swapping them between my (new) office and the (new) spare bedroom.

I also was going to post some cat photos, but my phone was balking at mailing them to myself, so STYMIED.

I did spend this weekend and parts of this week re-organizing my office so that things actually have places. I read an organizing book via Kindle Unlimited (because even if I don't take any advice from such a book, it spurs me to get up and do some re-organizing), and the one bit of advice I have taken from it is, when trying to figure out where something should live, to ask myself "When I'm looking for this item, where is the first place I look for it?" Such an obvious question when you think about it! (I read an ADHD-friendly organizing book a decade ago that pointed out if you're leaving projects in progress out in places, then find or create a place to store it next to those places which was another "Oh, duh!" moment for me.)

I also created a year-at-a-glance calendar on the backside of the folding table on a storage unit that serves as my crafting/whatever table. That meant we had to paint the underside of the table to give the repositionable whiteboard sheet we bought something to cling to that wasn't bare plywood. And then I drew out 12 columns and 31 rows with dry-erase markers and filled it all in with weekends and everything before pulling back, looking at it, looking at the washi tape storage box next to it and thinking "Fuck I should have used tape to mark it out." So the next day I did that. Now we just need to find some 2"x2" post-it notes since my little post-it flags aren't big enough to see from my desk, and being able to see them from my desk is an important part of my process.
