I'm fairly sure she would consider that her tree, also!
I've already picked out the non-glass/ceramic ornaments from our collection and checked that none have sentimental value in case they do get batted off and vanish or break. I'll probably also put in a curbside pickup order at Ikea for some of their plush/wood ornaments since we're going over to that area of town this weekend to drop a box of presents off on the porch of my BiL/SiL's house.
I had to do the same this year, tbh, the cat has ignored the tree for two years and this year he is pretty keen on it. Only the wood, cloth, and unbreakable shiny balls will survive. Also, I moved the end table and coffee table...
The Ikea plush mushrooms are very cute and cat-forgiving, if they still have those.
I don't normally put up a tree, but this year is definitely not the one the one to start. We have a 5 month old kitten that considers everything in the house to be her toy, from my hair to the other cats. It's a good thing she's fucking adorable.
Sora is the reason we didn't adopt a kitten and got D.Va at about 9-ish months instead. He was adorable and SO INFURIATING because of natural kittenishness. I said never again.

We are also not putting lights on it this year, in the hopes that she will neither electrocute herself nor burn the house down.
