This is what I was INTENDING to do
You may recall the 3D oops I posted which spawned the fake grimdark book cover (AO3 link).
Here's the image I was actually trying to do.
This is after editing and adjusting in Photoshop.

And compared to the original render. I wanted the widest range of darks and lights in the original so I could mess about with them as appropriate. I also needed to fix the lighter area around the big bruise*, fix the clipping on the arm straps, adjust eye color and put catchlights in them, and darken the hotspot on his forehead so that it wasn't the focal point, as it got brighter during adjustments. (I probably need to do the same on the sword hilt.)

I usually end up feeling a bit of the character as I'm working on an image. This guy's an asshole, and I love him in all his assholishness.
*the function that puts these bruises and wounds on him is called a decal and it's obviously aimed at lighter skin colors. Maybe there's a way to fix that in DAZ but I don't know what it is.
Now I get to figure out exactly what I'm going to do with him. I was aiming for practicing grimdark covers and hopefully coming up with a premade I could post, so now I need to start figuring out how best to do that.
