This Metafilter post on Penelope Farmer's timeslip novel Charlotte Sometimes has discussion in the comments on the sheer amount of unstuck-in-time and time-travel novels published in the UK in the 1950s and 60s.

There's my childhood reading, right there. They left out William Mayne's Earthfasts, A Grass Rope, and possibly others.

I read the hell out of the Green Knowe and several other books in that range (The Swing in the Summerhouse is one I keep forgetting the title of), but Charlotte Sometimes never crossed my radar. :)
