myrialux and I have, for the past few weeks, been buying and opening Advent calendars, usually in the mid-afternoon when he gets antsy for coffee and makes himself some and me some tea.



This started when I found the LEGO one and bought it, knowing it would probably sell out soon. And we decided to just...open it, no point in waiting until December.




I'd have to find where myrialux has squirreled away the minifigs that we've got so far--they're in hiding from Some Cat.



Then there were the Ghibli socks. Not a traditional Advent calendar, but a package of 8 pairs we opened one by one. Two pairs are in the wash right now. Calcifer and...I should know, but I've forgotten.



And the Hello Kitty OPI nail polish calendar. The bottles are teeny and adorable. They are also packed in alphabetical order, myrialux realized the other day.




This candy one is the big splurge so far, and the box is so beautiful and well-made that we're going to keep it and re-use it for small items in the future. Most of the candy is of the gummy persuasion, alas, but there's been nothing really terrible so far.




And here is the most recent--a Moomin 75th Anniversary Advent calendar that arrived today! Presumably when it's all done it becomes a board game--the thing Moomintroll is sitting on opens up and looks like one, and a d6 accompanied Moomintroll. I haven't read the back of the box because I don't want to accidentally find out what I might be getting.

Playmobile usually does some, and IG showed me an ad for a Totoro that sorely tempted me.... Last year Diamine did a fountain-pen ink one!

I saw the ink one online and am very sad that it doesn't seem to be on sale now, in the year I am actually interested in fountain pen ink!

That's D.Va! We got her in, er, February? January! I just skimmed back through my tags and if I've posted photos of her recently I haven't tagged them, but if you go through 'kittyspam' and 'cats' you'll get a reasonable amount of the story of her acquisition. :)

I remember her name, now. She still looks very kittenish.

She still acts kittenish, wanting to play constantly, but sometime in the past few weeks her shape has imperceptibly gone from kitten to cat. XD

I do, too! They are, however, very very slippy on our laminate floor so they need to be worn with shoes, and in these times I have put on shows almost never.

I bought myself an Advent calendar of jellies and jams! I haven't opened it yet, but I think I probably will in the next few days, since like you I don't have any particular reason to wait for December.

Having finished the candy, nail polish, and Star Wars ones, I found two collections of socks at Target and got those for us. It's a sock-filled year.
