par for the course with 3D software

Oh, DAZ3D, why must you toy with me so?

That's what happened after I picked a pose for the figure. He was holding the gun before.

I'm steadfastly Not Looking At the spot in his armpit where his shirt's clipping through the coat.

(His coattails aren't set correctly because the computer is calculating them based on the thigh position--I have to configure them manually. His hair looks weird because (a) this is the Cartoon Shaded version of the working view as the render preview takes way long to do when you need to make a lot of adjustments and (b) it's a special type of hair that has many strands calculated individually according to gravity (ish) and I can't do that step until I get him into a pose so I don't have hair clipping through him. Also I gave him hat hair because I was originally going to put a hat on him, but I think not for now; I'll switch it out.

Thanks for pointing this out. I'm looking at refreshing my 3D skills. Last time I seriously studied this was in the 1990's in the days of Caligari 3D and VideoToaster.

Thanks much for the linkage there. Especially as you note the weekly content changes. That should be useful as time goes on. I have Daz3D ready to install, along with Clip Studio Paint and Clip Studio Modeller already installed in their current versions. I was pleasantly surprised when I noticed the latter.

HAHAHAHAHA

I am selfishly glad to see you playing with more Daz3d - we need more non-goofy dragons rendered at more than thirteen polygons. :-D

(I'm also pretty sure I've seen a lot more Daz3d people cropping up on covers recently, though often with photoshopped faces)

Overpainted (or otherwise significantly post-processed) Daz seems to have become prevalent in fantasy, UF, and SF. Maybe less so in the shirtless dude paranormal romance categories - though I'm pretty sure I've spotted a few Daz guys on some fae romances.

It would definitely be nice to have some new pose options! I think by now Zoe has collectively used every half-decent shirtless guy on Depositphotos (at least the ones who aren't screaming at their junk or inexplicably holding vegetables)

Oh hey! The example renders are TERRIFYING but this update to the Daz Legendary Griffin model actually looks pretty good (if you click past the DEAR GOD WHY spindly cartoon nightmares to get to the examples of poses and head/body morphs). Might be useful?

I am kind of in love with the pixie dragon and want to write a book about it...
