The Cat With No Name is now named...




D.Va!

I can tell that most of you are tilting your heads and going "Huh?" and one or two of you are smiling and nodding your heads.

She's named in honor of her origins--taking a ride in the engine of a Chevy Volt--as well as her torbie-tude and her tendency to serenade us when she wanted out of her room. Alternate spellings of DVa, Dva, and Diva quite acceptable. :)

The reference is to a character in the MMO game Overwatch. D.Va is a cute South Korean teenage girl who is a former professional gamer and who pilots a pink mecha (hence the connection to the cat's ride in the Volt engine). The D.Va intro cinematic is her blowing up her mecha--she can summon another one--and taking a selfie as it explodes in the background. Video--7seconds.

Sora remains somewhat skeptical and tense, but I've caught him sniffing her butt a few times, and he still shows no aggression, although he's hissy when she broaches his personal space. Like the time yesterday when she sat behind him and attacked his flopping tail. (He hissed, then KEPT FLOPPING HIS TAIL until she attacked it again...THREE TIMES. Sora, dude, you gotta learn!)

Hopefully that's the case for him, then! He's nervous enough to not get on my lap when we're all sitting in the media room, the way he usually did before the newcomer, but last night he got on the back of my chair and loafed there. And I've caught him making slow blinks at her, when she was on the floor and quiet and he was sitting on top of the TV stand.

We are scanning the rug he peed all over when the feral kittens were outside, but no stains so far.

She has not had kittens as far as I know.

I am playing so much more D.va again now that she has her dive capability back. The rocket regeneration (finally) makes up for the brutally nerfed defense matrix and she is so much more effective that I can hardly believe it.
