Art. Not mine. Of my stuff.
OK so I basically commissioned fanart of my Deadfall characters from 3 different people I found on Reddit to celebrate getting my rough draft done.
The interesting part is that each of these people had the EXACT SAME character descriptions, which were a 3-page PDF with a lot of photos and me saying things like "Musketeers without bucket boots" and "Scruff level: Ricky Whittle and Jason Statham" and "This is not a dashing scar. This is an ugly scar," and "I encourage you to embrace a stupid number of belts."
All 3 of them did excellent jobs and I love them all. I did stay hands-off for the most part, just because I love seeing what different artists come up with. :)
Facundo Nehuén López
For the full character design thing. He's got all of Burn's various kit done out nicely including, I must say, the bollock dagger (which apparently was a dirty joke that the entirety of Europe loved for, like, 500 years).
Garrison Dominguez
For the comic-book pinup/character design style. He really nailed Burn's Resting Asshole Face here. And I love Calli's cheerful attitude. He also picked the latchet crossbow for Burn's load-out. (Burn has a lot of weapons. I told the artists they didn't have to draw all of them.)
Nophie
And for a MUCH different style than the other two. The character ref sheets had 3 clothing-style choices for Calli. The other two artists did Adventuring, mostly because that's what she's wearing for most of Deadfall, but I thought Nophie's style would suit Academic more, so that's what I asked for.
I can seriously recommend all three of these artists. :)
