Tweaking the AI

Running the dataset of fantasy titles through the AI again, this time 500 times, spitting out ever 50.

This time I also put them in alphabetical order (it was easier to delete the program's cruft that way) and compared them to the original list of titles. I ended up deleting about 20 titles that it replicated, but the rest of these are original, ot at least different from the list. Some of them are very, very close to existing titles*, and I'm sure that some of them match existing titles that are not included on my list, but there's no way I can make that perfect. :)

* I kept Dragon Legacy even though The Dragon Legacy exists in my dataset.

I see I need to remove The Book of Mormon from my dataset. While I may technically consider it fantasy, it's not fantasy in the spirit of this list. :)

I really enjoy how lots of these are perfectly reasonable -- Diamonds of Wonder, sure, The Heart of Starstone, sounds good, The Curse of Chimn, I've seen way more unpronounceable fantasy names like that -- and then all of a sudden you stub your toe on something like Gnometian naud Hropheles or The Girl Who Fell Benedict Girl and just faceplant into a pile of word salad.

I keep finding titles to delete from the dataset--there's a clump of German and Spanish titles I found after running this lot--but I don't think they're necessarily responsible for all of the weirdnesses. "Gnometian" obviously started with "Gnome" and took a very wrong turn near the end! Possibly the various proper names and names of imaginary countries are throwing it for a loop.

Gnometian on its own I would take as a slightly hilarious but plausible fantasy name! But in combination with the rest of the title, it just falls apart. Which of course is the issue with a lack of human ear involved; the border between "plausible fantasy names" and "letter salad" gets pretty fuzzy and culturally determined...
