It's been a hell of a ride getting these stupid pics uploaded, during which I found out that I can't get the PDA software to work in my user account, and that if I copy pics from teh PDA over to the desktop of my user account, they're not automatically given permission so I have to log back into the local administrative account to give them permissions. ARGH.

These are all from my phone, gotten to the comptuer via Bluetooth and my PDA.

You may have see this one before:

This is the cat's favorite place to sleep. It's a flat from a package of 12 individual Pringles cans. The cat is slightly larger than the flat no matter which way she arranges herself, but she doesn't seem to mind.

This is a box that the cat occasionally deigns to sit in. Again, the cat is slightly larger than the box.

And to continue the box theme, this is my box of BPAL imps. From some time ago - the three middles rows are smaller now that I've tried and liked or rejected a number of them. The rows over on the right are the NO NO NO ones, the ones over on the left are the YES YES YES ones. The dark caps over on the far right are the 5ml bottles, two less now that I've decanted and sent out Honey Moon and Spooky.

And here is the GIANT MUTANT ARTICHOKE.

It's not being held too far in front of my face - my nose was almost touching it here.

Gah!
That's an amazingly huge artichoke! ...from SPACE!
or something.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-10-11 04:46 pm (UTC)(link)
And it was good, too! I'm sort of hoping I gain mutant powers.

[identity profile] tammylee.livejournal.com 2005-10-11 04:59 pm (UTC)(link)
*chokes on tea*
Mutant Artichoke powers! Plate body armour, your organ surrounded by spiny things... AH! but perhaps unbeknownst to us mere mortals, artichokes are the psychics of the vegetable kingdom?

*imagines a Wolverine with artichoke powers*
Wolverine: SNIKT! *chewchewchew*
Jubilee: EWWW! Wolvie! Isn't that cannibalism?
Wolverine: eh, it's like chewing your fingernails... but tastier!

Good thing he can regenerate those artichokey claws!

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-10-11 06:30 pm (UTC)(link)
XD

Wolverine: And I'm SO GOOD when dipped in butter!

[identity profile] magicnoire.livejournal.com 2005-10-11 04:48 pm (UTC)(link)
That artichoke's pretty damn impressive.

And... pretty BPAL box! Mine isn't nearly as organized because my collection is mostly bottles with just a few imps scattered about. :D

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-10-11 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks! The box is from a gift collection of Isabella Rossellini's Manifesto perfume that the students clubbed together and bought me when I was leaving my last job. (The perfume is ok, but the bottle is really pretty, as is the box). I just cut Styrofoam down to size and poked holes in it to hold the imps, because I got tired of having to fish around a cardboard box every time I wanted one.

xxxHOLIC?

your icon

[identity profile] artist-luver.livejournal.com 2005-10-11 04:57 pm (UTC)(link)
my cat does the same thing! he LOVES boxes or any form of paper lying around. he'll just make himself at home. ^_^
that is a very large artichoke. @_@

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-10-11 06:28 pm (UTC)(link)
:D She loves boxes and to shred paper. There's scraps of paper all over the floor of the apartment from the cat shredding them.

Even when I know better, I am *still* disconcerted when people do not look like their vaguely-humanoid default icons.

Also, I miss having a cat.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-10-11 06:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I'm covering my face. I assure you it looks exactly like this default icon, horrified expression and all.

I totally had Mello's hair - style and color - as a kid

[identity profile] marith.livejournal.com 2005-10-11 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Yow, you have a lot of BPAL imps. *impressed*

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-10-11 06:29 pm (UTC)(link)
XD I went on a spree last month. It's slowed down muchly now, but yo can see that every time a couple more that I forgot I swapped for come in I get a bit stressed out. XD

[identity profile] rachelmanija.livejournal.com 2005-10-11 06:23 pm (UTC)(link)
WHOA, that's a big artichoke!

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-10-11 06:30 pm (UTC)(link)
GIANT MUTANT artichoke!

Nothing that big has a right to be tender and taste good, but it did. I was expecting it to be woody or tough or something, but nope.

[identity profile] thomasyan.livejournal.com 2005-10-11 06:49 pm (UTC)(link)
I used to think, because my mother said so, that larger lobsters were less tender than smaller lobsters. That turns out not to be the case. Well, ok, their shells can be tougher, but their meat is still tasty and tender.

Your box of BPAL imps uncomfortably reminds me of the allergy tests I had as a little kid: A whole grid of different substances inflicted on my poor back. This impression is enhanced by your mentioning you might be allergic to some of the imps.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-10-11 06:51 pm (UTC)(link)
:D I'm definitely allergic to ceder, possibly allergic to jasmine, and get sort-of-vague stuffiness with some of them, but it's hard to tell because everything n teh entire world tends to give me sort-of-vague stuffiness.

I really need to get allergy tested. I was offered a referral right before I left my last job, but not in time to get an appointment with the allergist before my insurance coverage dropped.

oh yeah, it's a rule that containers suitable for cats be smaller than the cat in question. :)

XDDD My cat has never gotten into the sink, but my mom's cat has once or twice. Never when a camera was handy, of course.

[identity profile] usmangaka.livejournal.com 2005-10-11 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh noes! Where's kitty? The artichoke must have got him! D:
