Anyway: the food is great! Haven’t had a bad meal yet. One of the tour guides had tips for finding the better restaurants, which included: getting lost, because you get out of the more touristy areas and into the local areas (we tried and we kept stumbling into places we’d already been so we knew where we were!), and then to avoid any place that had a guy standing outside trying to get you to come in. We ate at some places with a guy trying to get us to come in, and some places without and honestly, they’ve both been good.
As Toby says, “We have not had a Sukiya moment yet.” But for just Italy, he’s going with gnocchi in cherry tomato sauce with burrata as his favorite meal. Mine was a breaded pork cutlet with pommes frites. Toby’s favorite overall was from Switzerland: a pizza at Cantinone in Lugano. A giant pizza with prosciutto, cheese, and tomato sauce on a thin crust. He says there were just enough of each of the ingredients so nothing overpowered anything else and they all shone. I think mine was the rosti in Switzerland with egg and bacon. Toby puts his rosti, with mushroom sauce and sausage, a close second.

I'm not keeping up on Ingress or Pokemon Go . . . but if I go to Europe I'm going to have to dust off the Ingress app just so I can link two portals across the ocean.
