Aaaand yesterday was inexplicably a slow day in LJ land as my breakup post made it to the top 25 of posts on LJ, was #5 the last time I looked this morning, and is gathering comments from people I'm not familiar with! Not complaining, just wondering why *my* post hit the big time and not any of the other million posts I've seen on the subject.

It's happened a couple of times before, and I've never been able to figure out why me. I'm guessing their algorithm incorporates the number of LJs you're subscribed to and who subscribe to you, because I've got an approximate metric fuckton of those just due to being around since 2003 or so, most of which have been abandoned in the years since.

*checks* Ah, well, I'm losing my popularity: down to #8 now!

Huh! I remember seeing your post coming up when I tried to specifically see if anyone else commented on LJ's new TOS, but I just figured Google was just serving me up something I wanted to see. :U
