Still exhausted, but could not sleep. Ah well.

Nefer is now back home: the place giving the radiation treatment called and said that she wasn't eating well, and they thought she'd do better at home and that the radiation had diminished enough for it to be safe. So Toby went and picked her up--she purred almost the entire way home, I am told--and we have ensconced her in the spare bedroom. The last I saw her, I'd brought in food and water and she was purring and chowing down, so I expect she wasn't eating because she was depressed and lonely, not because she was feeling bad.

Two weeks to go until she can be released.

edit: She has just commenced howling to be let out. It's going to be a long two weeks.

Thanks. I did sleep until almost 11AM, so I'm not surprised that I can't nap right now, but it's annoying because I'm so tired that I can't really think straight or concentrate on anything. Colds suck.

Nefer is going to howl herself hoarse, I think...

Cloud hates being locked into a single room, but she doesn't yowl. Instead, as far as we can tell, she lurks patiently right next to the door and streaks out as soon as it's opened. For such an ordinarily lazy cat she can run really fast when she cares to...

I seem to have missed why she needed to be irradiated? I'm glad she's doing well under the circumstances.

Thyroid problems. She'd lost a bunch of weight pretty quickly, and the vet diagnosed it, and said we could try to pull her every day for the rest of her life, or we could try radioactive iodine. A could of very expensive tests later it turns out she's a perfect candidate for the iodine-131 treatment, so we're doing that. It will be less traumatizing in the long run, given how hard she is to pill.

She's not happy about being stuck in the spare bedroom, though, which I can't blame her for.

Thanks! She didn't yowl as much last night as she did the night before, so we're hoping she settles down a bit!
