There was an incident years and years ago in which free samples (small plastic bottles) of a lemon-scented dishwashing soap were distributed in plastic bags in mailboxes. The bottles were bright yellow and had a big picture of a lemon on them and the name was something like Sunny Lemon---anyway, a bunch of people mistook it for lemon flavoring. Urp!
Illinois Poison Control had a blog post about similar events last month. Apparently they've gotten more than one call over the years about PineSol-laced brownies -- the bottle is easy to confuse with vegetable oil.
I saw that! I got this link from the comments on the Metafilter post pointing to several entries on the IL Poison COntrol blog. There were lots of horrifying stories in the MeFi comments, too!
