BPAL review: The Red Queen
Almost ready for AnimeFest. Which, by the way, is being held in the Hyatt Regency at Reunion Tower. Reunion Arena, next door, is being used to house refugees. It's gonna be an interesting weekend.

The Red Queen
BPAL description: From the Mad Tea Party collection. Deep mahogany and rich, velvety woods lacquered with sweet, black-red cherries and currant.
In vial: Cherry candy. This smells like a cherry Starburst tastes.
Wet: The woods come out almost immediately, layered with the fading cherry. I smell like a lumberyard.
Dry: Light cherry and woods. Im assuming there's no or very little cedar in it, since I'm not sneezing.
Notes: Cat didn't want to smell my wrist. She kept trying to sniff my fingertips instead, but that's because she thinks it's time for me to giver her the daily hairball treats that she loves. Final verdict: rather nice. I smell like a boutique lumberyard, and I happen to like the smell of lumberyards. It's not making me rush to eBay to find a bottle, but if I happen to see one, I might put in a bid.
* Western Australia, more exactly.

And their state animal is the black swan. What's up with that? They could have picked something cool like the spiny camel-funnelweb spider with flesh-dissolving venom, or the drop bear. But nooo, that's them westies for you.

I currently reek like a Bordello, since my eBay purchase arrived this afternoon.
I won a partial bottle of Spooky on eBay on Sunday, but unfortunately the person I won it from was in New Orleans. O.o She emailed and said it might be a few days before I get it; I'm assuming that I won't get it, but in that case, I know she'll need the cash more than I do, so I'm not going to fuss over the price. And if at some point in the next few months half a bottle of Spooky shows up in my mailbox? Score!
