This is our house today! And while it looks like lovely, soft, crunchy snow, what this white stuff is is ICE. There's a layer of ice over whatever snow there is, and it's very slippery! And I don't think the photo adequately shows the steepness of our drive--we've got one of the steepest driveways in the neighborhood. We're not leaving the house today. Possibly not even tomorrow.

On the bright side, you can see that our attic is well-insulated since there's no melted patches on our roof!

I wasn't able to go downstairs until around 2:30 yesterday because the last few stairs were covered and solid ice over the crunchy snow, and didn't even try to leave, just cleaned the worst of the stuff off my car so I wouldn't have 2 inches of ice on the car this morning. Made it to work fine and then when I got off, I managed to slip on ice that had formed around my car while I was at work. Somehow, I managed to actually land sitting in my car instead of flat on my back. (It was that thing where youe foot literally flies out from under you.)

And I was wearing a tshirt on Wednesday...

For some reason it surprises me that Texas gets snow and ice. I'm going to guess that's because every book I read gives the impression that the entire state is one huge, never ending rodeo on a hot, sunny day.
