I r smrt

Today's protip: if you have a mouthful of mashed potatoes that are too hot for your mouth, spit them out instead of swallowing them. I felt that EVERY INCH OF THE WAY DOWN until I knocked back a glass of water. A bit of Googling tells me the general consensus is that it's a relatively minor burn (as in, I have zero difficulty swallowing and don't feel it now except occasionally when I swallow) and that it should heal up in 48 hours or so, and to avoid spicy or acidic foods, take painkillers if necessary, and cold foods and drinks should make it feel better.

Sounds like ICE CREAM tonight.

Joy of adulthood; ice cream, it's medicine kid, back off my bowl.
Hope your insides feel better quickly. =D

For ICE CREAM, any excuse will do!

(Yeah, mashed potatoes are the boiling oil of standard U.S. cuisine.)

It's MEDICINE! And my throat now feels as it does when I've strained my voice, so I think it's generally getting better.

(Not my smartest moment, I tell you. I've blistered the roof of my mouth before by popping in a forkful of mashed potatoes with a hidden pocket of molten lava melted butter. You'd think I'd have learned.)
