Recommendation!

Right, time to squee: After having spent MORE money on something suggested in it, I'm going to take the time to recommend a weekly newsletter for web designery-ish people that I'm subscribed to. It's the newsletter put out by the Webdesigner Depot blog, which comes out once a week and is packed with both free and pay resources for web designer-type people. Often at a discount, or with a coupon. I'm currently taking a class at Udemy.com for work on usability in web design that I got through the newsletter for 60% off, and this particular post is spurred by getting a logo design course at Udemy for half price. (And no, I'm not getting compensated for this, in case it sounds like a post-for-pay! I just want to say: if you do any sort of web design, sign up for it!)

I've also got a bookmark folder full of the free stuff they point out. :) For one, I'm running through a free Web typography course supplied at Hack Design that I found through the newsletter. (On work time, even! Because while my work highly encourages relevant continuing education, they really like free relevant continuing education.) I've also now got a digital library of Smashing Magazine ebooks, alas not for free, but bought in bundles after being pointed out by the newsletter.
