AKICILJ/DW

Does anyone here old enough to remember the 1980s and were in the States at the time remember a perfume/cologne for young women sold in drugstores and grocery stores that had a unicorn on the box? I vaguely seem to remember that the background might have been greenish or yellowish, as if the unicorn were running through a field, and that it might have been in soft focus.

Every so often it comes to mind: I can't remember what it smelled like, but I really liked it at the time, but never bought it at the time because I didn't have the money. My parents' well-meaning attempt to sneakily get the name out of me (because they couldn't remember) for a Christmas present one year failed because they sent my aunt to ask me, who claimed she had a friend that she was thinking of getting some perfume for, and asked me if I had any suggestions, and of course I was not going to suggest something that you got at the grocery store for a present for a grownup!

ETA: I believe I've found it. Toujours Moi Magical Musk, by Max Factor.

I'm associating that with Wind Song, but I don't recall them having a unicorn. Possibly related? (It had a lot of greens and bluish-greens?)

ETA: Avon Ultra...? Look on eBay for pictures of the packaging.

1984, heh, by then I was living in an area where I walked past an amazing store every day, and I graduated to Guerlain with my hard-saved personal-indulgence pennies. Briefly.

That product shows how long the 1970s lasted.

But you were expecting it, so your head didn't explode.

I suspect I had an image of the famous The Last Unicorn cover in my head, fuzzily crossed with that Avon thing. With a touch of Muguet de Bois. Well, it would be an improvement.

What a remarkably uncomfortable-looking sex toy.

Toujours Moi sounds like Miss Piggy did the branding for that one.

LOL! That is great.

I remember thinking Poison was a super awesome perfume just because of the name, but that is really the extent of my experimenting with perfume as a pre/teen.
