Builder almost knocks down Frank Lloyd Wright house. Still wants to, in fact.

Admittedly, I've heard that FLW houses often suck when it comes to construction, leaking and things, but I used to be a curator in an art and architecture slide collection so my knee-jerk reaction is KNOCK DOWN A FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT HOUSE ARE YOU INSANE?!

Not justifying anything, but the article does say that he had no idea of the house's history of who FLW was when he bought it. And it has not been designated a landmark yet.

Yeah, I read this elsewhere. I don't get how someone in the industry neither had heard of Frank Lloyd Wright nor had the presence of mind to do some due diligence about the provenance of the house.

Something's not adding up there, although I wouldn't necessarily say that the developers were out-and-out dishonest about it.

Meh. I've never respected Wright, or many other architects. If a house isn't good for living in, put it in a museum. Or put pictures of it in a museum.
