Yup. Nefer's now grooming Sora, although he's not reciprocating because he never does. (I wonder if he was taken from his mom too soon to learn that he's expected to groom back? Or is he just a jerk?)
Nope, opposite. But there's some parallax going on making ehr look bigger than him - she's a few inches closer to the front of the seat, and the camera is a bit closer to her. She's got a dainty little nose/muzzle while Sora's got a big fat one.
You know what, my dyslexia totally came out on that one. Nefer has a more broad head and is resting it on her little paws. They are so cute together. They're total salt and pepper shakers.
BTW, I am so ordering the calendar so I can have Sora on my wall!
We call Nefer Miss Daintypaws! When she's crouched down but not quite in a full catloaf, she tends to put her paws together right in front of her, which makes them look especially dainty next to her bulky shoulders (she has the shoulders of a linebacker). Sora never does that: he stretches one or both out in a half-squid or full-squid, as we call them.
Mine never got to that point. They'd get close, but never really, truly cuddled. Meanwhile, somewhere there is a photo of two of mine when I was growing up, the kitten laying ON the grown cat.
Aww! Our cats Domino and Stark used to always curl up together. It was rather sweet watching them snooze together in the garden when it was sunny. Domino would also insist on coming and sitting on me only when Stark was already occupying my lap, which often meant she'd try and get comfortable on my chest but would usually end up sliding down on top of poor Starky because my chest just isn't that big :D
Now that Stark has gone the rest of our cats unfortunately exist in an uneasy truce with frequent skirmishes.

Sora on the right and Nefer on the left?
Mine are snuggling too - and it's 70 out.

It's usually Sora just throwing himself down on top of Nefer, and Nefer deciding on the spot whether to groom him or hiss and swipe at him.
