Sweet! (stats junkie)

I sent out a ConDFW newsletter to our email list, which hadn't been used in a couple of years, and which we'd added new names/email addresses to from convention reg forms, and so far there's been only 1 unsubscribe, and it was from someone I noticed as having two addresses on the list, and they only unsubbed one. Woo!

I admit that the list was entirely made of people who gave us explicit permission to send them email of this nature, which helps a great deal. :)

Anyway, so far it went out to 652 people, of which 101 were bounces. Which I expected, seeing as how many of the emails were transcribed from handwritten reg forms, and between the handwriting and the typing, errors were bound to creep in. Out of the remaining ones, looking at how many of the names were duplicates but with different email addresses, I'm guesstimating that we're reaching about 450 people.

And of of that, so far about 25% have opened the email. That's not counting those reading it in text only or who don't turn images on, because that's how MailChimp reco0rds opens, I believe.

Anyway, I'm thinking it's working out quite well so far.

ETA: I just checked and we've had a second unsubscribe, from someone who I also recognize as having three different emails on our list. We'll see if they unsub any of the others.
