AKICILJ/DW: Android users/coders
If any of you are Android device users and/or coders, can you riddle me this?
In iOS devices, there are certain design guidelines that coders are encouraged to comply with - location of tabs, button functions, etc. Are there similar guidelines for Android?
The reason is that Toby's working with (for certain values of "with") an Android coder on the A-Kon app, and the coder claims there are no guidelines like that, that you can do whatever the hell you want with your app, and we're a bit suspicious of that. As to why we'd be suspicious that a coder wouldn't know, let's just mention when he offered to write a web program for someone else, he did not ask them for any input - no "What does your current process do that you'd like it to do better, what do you hate about it, what have you wished you could do, and what is your process anyway?" He's creating the program with no inupt from the two end users.
So. Yeah. If there's guidelines for Android, we'd like to know so we can direct him to them. He seems to want to make the Android version of the app EXACTLY LIKE the Apple version, which involves a lot of extra work on his end and no matter how much Toby tells him NOT TO DO THAT, he ignores that direction.
