Hm. Grace Kelly wedding hat: yes or no?
Why I am drawn to it: because I know that 50s-style headband hat looks good on me. I actually own one. I have no idea where it is, though, and it's probably gotten lost in one of the many moves since I bought it, back in Denver, at an antique store for $5. I was shopping with Mom, picked it up and made fun of it, tried it on, and was abashed as it actually worked. :)
Cons: when I last tried that hat on, I had long curly hair. And now I have short, straight hair. (Wonder if I can find a cheapo version of that style somewhere to try on?)

At any rate, I found a costuming supply site online that was selling buckram forms of the same shape for a decent price and which didn't require an obnoxious minimum purchase, so I ordered one (and a pattern for a 1930s hat I couldn't resist) to try.

I found a site online with hatmaking supplies willing to sell me and ship me a buckram headband hat frame without outrageous minimum-order requirements, so there should be one on its way to me that I can plop on my head and evaluate, though.

I like this better with your current hairstyle. I think with the train and draping of the dress the Kelly version would overwhelm your head.
