The problem with a lot of the series is that while the first 2 or 3 are excellent, they often tail off badly. I might read the first couple of Drizzt or Elric books, but Not the entire series.

I was suprised ty the omission of Chronicles of Narnia!

They ruled out anything children's or YA, IIRC, which IMHO skews the whole list in a very old-school sort of YA.

I'm sad Bridge of Birds didn't make it to the top 100. I'm also a little blah as I see quite a few things on there that I did try and didn't find all that impressive. (I'm looking at you Neil Gaiman...) I wonder what the ratio of male to female characters are, as I know I prefer female protagonists over males and that caused me to lose interest in a few of the series. (Wheel of time, Lord of the Rings, etc)
