A few months back, when I was still using the MacBook, something messed up with the music app, either on the laptop or my iPhone, and much of the album art got mixed up. Not all, weirdly enough, but most. It hasn't bothered me enough to go looking for other people who have had the same problem, so I haven't fixed it yet, even though I've got a new computer (which I haven't even set up with iTunes or whatever Apple's using to handle music and syncing with phones now on PCs).
Right now:
What does this all say? Mostly that I have a seriously eclectic collection of music, I suppose.
Right now:
- the Halo soundtrack sports the Assassin's Creed soundtrack art.
- the Heartwood Institute (a group) playlist features Van Canto's artwork, while the individual songs sport art from the Hole/NY Loose version of "Spit"
- the Internashville Urban Hymns album playlist from BossHoss features artwork from The Essential TOTO and the songs have the artwork from a goth Christmas/Yule album: Winter's Knight by Vox Arcana.
- Rammstein's new album art is from the Dick Tracy soundtrack
- Lady Gaga sports the Witcher III game soundtrack
- Loreena McKennitt is in Mannheim Steamroller
- Nick Cave is collaborating with the Charlie Daniels Band
- Camelot is performed by Clamavi De Profundis (wow, please!)
- Van Canto, the acappella metal band, are doing the Frantics' "Boot to the Head" comedy skit (I'd...forgotten I had a copy of that.)
- Sephiroth's theme, the version of "One-Winged Angel" from Advent Children, is performed by Goldfrapp
- Corvus Corax appears on the American Psycho soundtrack
- Heather Alexander performs the soundtrack to Pacific Rim
- Debbie Harry sings "Misty Mountains" from The Hobbit
- Billy Squier and Covenant share responsibility for another of the Assassin's Creed soundtracks.
- Fleetwood Mac appears on the Hellboy soundtrack
- YouTube acappella singer Peter Hollens is now singing Parov Stelar (what would you all that? techno? electronica? I AM TERRIBLE AT MODERN GENRES)
- Van Canto (playlist art) and David Garrett (song art) share responsibility for The Triplets of Belleville
- Suzanne Ciani, the New Age musician (who was the sister of a prof I used to work with!), is featured on the Halo soundtrack playlist art while her tracks are performed by The Ghost Quartet
- Loreena McKenitt and Machines of Loving Grace are mutually responsible for the output of Solar Fields
- The Charlie Daniels Band's "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" is credited to Blind Guardian
- The Fixx have gone Norwegian and are doing Ulver's songs (I think they're Norwegian?
- ABBA sings Toto's "Africa"
- Rainbow gets all its own songs except for one, "Kill the King," which now appears on an 80s compilation album for some reason.
What does this all say? Mostly that I have a seriously eclectic collection of music, I suppose.
