Ooh, a non-Japan post!
I woke up out of a dream vaguely based around the idea of Jurassic Park, only with animals from much later. One of the animals was an arctother, an extinct very large bear (http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arctotherium), only it turns out that its main form of defense wasn't teeth, claws, or anything like that, it was that you looked into its eyes and just really, really *wanted* to do what it wanted you to do.
I remember thinking that that was a hell of an adaptation.

Kyoto’s having a snowstorm right now. We’re eating at an Italian restaurant in Kyoto Station because there was a huge line at the elevators to go up to the department store floors with the restaurants.
After this, it’ll be time to check in and we have to figure out how to get to the ryokan where we’re spending the night.
In conclusion: snowstorm!
