First cosplay pics!

There's a lot of these, so they're going up in batches. Photos taken by me and rachelmanija at A-Kon 2008, most of them from our artist alley table. We found it's quite effective to hail the cosplayer in question, ask to take their picture, then to offer them chocolate for posing for us.

This is where the anime aphasia I whinged about in a text-to-LJ post earlier became a problem. I found myself completely unable to remember the names of various characters I'm almost more familiar with than members of my own family. So many good costumes passed us by because Rachel and I were going "Um. Uh. Whozit. Whatisit. That guy. From that thing. Where they did that other thing. Yeah. That one."

I also regret that I was not able to capture a picture of the Captain Komamura who wandered by wearing his basket hat.

I also apologize for the quality of the pics: I did a batch conversion on them instead of editing, adjusting, and cropping each individually, because if I did that I'd never get the damn things posted.

The NEXT time I move, I'm so going to drop the big bucks on one of those outfits that does the packing for you.

And you know what sucks more than moving? Moving with a cold. AAARRGGH *cough* *cough*

The computer is getting taken apart tonight and moved tomorrow, and won't be hooked to the internet until the 16th, so my communications are probably going to be M-F during work hours from now until then, barring tomorrow when I'm going to be off all day moving.
