rachelmanija, kate_nepveu and I are reading the Tale of Genji, kintail's quietly been reading the Journey to the West (yes, for all you fangirls, this is the story that Saiyuki is based on), and has discovered all sorts of fanfic tropes and themes in it as well. There's a report on chapters 31 and 53 here, where you can find genderbending and mpreg. :D
