aaaarg, does anyone here know about how to get an ASP script to talk to a SQL Server database? I've managed to get it to at least *contact* the db, but the db won't let me in -- throws the "Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80040e4d' Login failed for user 'IUSR_LIBNT1'." error at me. And none of the print and electronic resources I can find explain clearly to me how to set it permissions and whatnot so as to let Random Joe Blow online use the script. (I've been asked to port the intranet calendar over from Access to SQL Server, so that everyone can log in from wherever to update the calendar with their absences and meetings and whatnot.)

and this headache I've had since Saturday morning is NOT HELPING.

[edit]

Well, I managed to figure out how to get in. I now can't do a damn thing while I'm *in* the db, but at least it's a new and different type of error.

This counts as Progress.

[edit 2]

Hallelujah! I figured that out, too! I'm in!

Now I am ready for the REALLY SCREWY errors to pop up.

Ack! Any of the artists on my friends list have any idea about how to paint a figure made of sand? As part of the Naruto Memorial Project I've been assigned Gaara's mother (er, for those of you who don't read or watch Naruto, Gaara controls sand), and the talented wredewrat has stolen my idea. OK, no she didn't really steal it - it's one of those sorts of ideas that come to mind because the ONLY picture of Gaara's mom is a framed photograph of her. WHich means that since I didn't get around to doing my version, I'm going to have to come up with another idea, hence thinking aobut how to paint sand. So ... any ideas?

And for those of you on my AIM buddy list, yes I know I haven't been on AIM much lately - almost all of my not-at-work time has been taken up by TEH SEKRIT PROJEKT that I can't talk about, and what little time is left over has been occupied by zoning out in front of CSI on Spike TV now that I've got cable television. THE FORENSIC LAB CALLS!
