(no subject)
Aug. 18th, 2003 09:25 pmStarted the day by reviewing the new version 4 of the website, which premiered this weekend. Trhe was a missing graphic on the main poage , which turned out to be due to remote-lionking a NOF logo (New Opportunity Fund - the loittery thing) which had gotten moved when the NOF site was reorganized. I stole the graphic from there and made a local copy. There was also a problem with a link goiong toi a nonexistent page, which I fixed.
Then I finished upo the NuSOAP script for Joe, after several headaches - one was that it was talking to the wrong database, and the second was that I'd forgotten to register a function, so it wasn't seeing the function.
After lunch I started working on a Learning Zone. The History of Medicine. There were some notes left by Dan and Fran, which broke the subject down into some categories, but they weren't very extensive. I looked through the online catalog to see what the Archives had, but they didn't have any general history of medicine stuff, although there was plenty of specific stuff that might give local detail. Charlie took me to the library and we checked out everything on medicine and plague. I started getting some basic notes down. I think my general plan is to give them a basic framework where the Archive, Natural Environment, and /rchaeology guys can slot in images and local detail.
