We got him a perfectly good clean sponge of his own to have and to love, and it turns out that apparently what he liked was the stinky part of the stinky sponge, as he refuses to have anything to do with the perfectly good clean sponge.

Of course, we really got him the sponge so we could say "We got our cat his own sponge."
