Our current attempt to get Sora to stop scratching the back of the couch, a Ssssscat motion-sensitive canned air thing. I think it might be a success!

We could do with one of those! Our 3 have completely wrecked one side of the couch, despite having perfectly good scratching post they also use. I fear they'd just knock the can over though and use it as a new toy XD

Sora uses scratching the couch to get my attention - he only does it when I'm home and in the room. We'd managed to get him to cut down a lot of it by me ostentatiously turning my back to him when he did it, but then we rearranged the living room, and now when I'm on the couch, he can't see me, so ostentatious ignoring has no effect.

The Amazon reviews claim the canned air gets used up pretty fast, though.
