Went to the doc for my back and waited and waited and waited and waited and by the time the doc was eventually able to see me* my back had almost completely stopped hurting. When I told her that, adding that the best way to cure an illness was to make an appointment, she laughed and said her doctor aura had preceded her. Anyway, it started hurting again a little bit after she poked it while saying "Does that hurt?" (OW YES!) and she thinks it's muscular, not the ligament (yay, means no re-injury), and gave me a prescription for muscle relaxers to take, one before bedtime, as necessary, mentioning it might take me years to get through them if I don't re-injure myself.** :) They weren't necessary last night, although I wish I'd had them to take on Sunday night, as I had interrupted sleep then.
Anyway, I'm to lay off weightlifting for a few days to give it a chance to heal without stressing it too much.
In other news, my clothes are officially too big for me and ARGH of course Lane Bryant no longer makes The Perfect Jeans: ORIGINAL Right Fit Jeans Blue/Curvy -- if you have any size 5s, I WILL BUY THEM FROM YOU. I found ONE pair on eBay and promptly bought them. (I wonder if I take my size 6s into the tailor I once used, can I get her to take them in?)
I've got one pair of jeans that fit me now, and, naturally, since everyone's into skinny jeans now, even though they're bootcut, the thighs are a bit tight while the waist is a bit loose.
* Usually I make the decision to go before 8AM and camp on the phone lines until they switch from answering machine to real people, and thus get a morning appointment. Calling at 9AM ensures an afternoon appointment, which will inevitably be delayed because my doc will spend as long with you as she needs to.
** I love having a doctor who actually trusts me to manage my own pain.
