Rango

Toby and I went and saw Rango this evening, braving the hordes of children at the Movie Tavern.* Verdict: loved it. It's the sort of movie that appeals to both kids and adults, because the adult humor will go right over the kids' heads. And there's references to tons of classic movies in there from The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly to Star Wars.

There is lots of violence - it's a Western after all - but characters actually die, so it has consequences. There are also more "damns" and "hells" that I would have expected. :) As it's a Western homage movie, every character in it is a stereotype including, unfortunately, the Native American (who is, at least, the smartest character there).

"Gloriously delirious" is the way I'd put it. Yes, you can predict each plot point, but...you're kinda supposed to. :)

* And waiting FAR TOO LONG for our dinner there. Grr!

Toby was all for seeing it when I told him there was a Hunter S. Thompson reference in there. XD He was not sorry he went.
