(no subject)

One week into my decision to swear off sweets for a while, and it's been fairly easy - I mean, I do long for a Dr Pepper quite a lot, but I haven't had to force myself to not drink one. I've slipped up twice, and both times were due to forgetfulness, not temptation: once having a mint at a restaurant after dinner and not remembering until after I bit into it, and once on Sunday* when Toby offered to get doughnuts and I ate a cinnamon roll before remembering that it probably counted, being all sugary. :)

In other news, random exhaustion and a headache, which probably means that it's a migraine coming on. :P

* There are Catholics who allow Sundays as cheat days, as each Sunday is a mini-Easter, but I'm not a practicing Catholic, and I'm not doing this for spiritual reasons, and cheating like that would undo what I'm trying to do by avoiding sweets for a period of time.

Until I got to the subsequent clause, I was reading that as "my decision to wear sweats for a while," and wondering what had prompted that.

It's the wrong time of year to start a resolution like that! It's supposed to get up to 80 degrees today!

Yeah, no joke- but you must admit Wearing Sweats for Lent would be a heck of a sacrifice around here.

True story: Last time I was in San Antonio, IN AUGUST, a woman wearing five layers of clothing and a sweater turban asked me for a handout. She wasn't even sweating. I gave her the money, because hey, I ain't gonna argue with someone who has Ice Powers.0_o

I also found sweets more of a habit than a desire, most of the time, when I cut them out. Are you cutting out naturally sweet stuff like fruit, too? Or just extra-sweetened things?

I thought I'd answered this already, but it turns out that I answered it IN MY HEAD.

Yeah, they're turning out to be more of a habit. It's just extra-sweetened things. I'm not looking to break a big sugar dependence, just to see if I can alter my palate a bit. We'll see if it works. XD
