...creating an Event on Facebook for ConDFW three weeks before the con and sending it out to all the people who "like" the ConDFW Facebook Fan Page has spawned 5 pre-registrations in less than 24 hours.

Do this again next year!

Oh, yes, FB can definitely be a boon, and the events option, while it can be a pain in the ass, makes it much easier to spread the word.

Yup. We've got enough people on FB who have liked the fan page (over 200 ... we only get about 3-600 attendees!) that we've *had* to start monitoring it daily, because people post questions there all the time. Luckily the con chair doesn't mind doing that, because I really don't want to log into FB every day. XD
