I didn't mention on here that we were going anywhere this weekend, because my grandfather occasionally reads my journal, and we were going, in fact, to a surprise party for his 90th birthday*. :) We had a six-hour drive back yesterday as Toby's work doesn't have MLK Jr Day off like mine does, otherwise we'd have split the journey the way we did going down - 3 hours to Mom's place Friday, pick her up and drive to the grandparents' Saturday. So we were dead tired last night.

And now to sit down and go through stacks of email and other obligations that I need to get to now that the A-Kon website is done...







* The family has already made the requisite bad jokes about heart attacks at surprise parties and thus they are neither necessary nor appreciated from anyone else.

It's pretty awesome that your grandfather reads your journal -- we tried for years to get my grandmother online because she loves talking to people, but she didn't want to learn how to use the computer.

He's had a computer for about ten years now - I don't remember how he got interested, but he picked it up pretty quickly. He finally stopped asking me for tech support once I got him to understand that I know nothing about Mac OS10+, but he's now thrilled that my boyfriend is a Mac geek and did tech support for several years, so is good at not only fixing problems, but explaining what's going on.
