Do eet! I've done it every year and it's remained remarkably wank-free, as far as I've seen. I think there might have been a minor kerfuffle (prior to reveal!) over how "good" of an artist you should be to participate, but the mods put a kibosh on that and explained that you should just work to the best of your ability, and nobody was going to rate people on their ability. (Unless I'm mixing that up with something else.)

At any rate, there's a tradition of nothing but squeeing in the comments, which I highly approve of, as these are gifts.
