Diana Wynne Jones

Per her website and other media outlets, Diana Wynne Jones has decided to discontinue chemotherapy for cancer. Well-wishes sent to meredithxyz at googlemail dot com will get to her - Meredith MacArdle prints them out each week and brings them to her.

I discovered _Dogsbody_ and _Witch Week_ in the school library in 8th grade and never looked back, spending many enjoyable teenage years combing the shelves of libraries and bookstores looking for Diana Wynne Jones books I hadn't read, and always fell on any new ones with
a cry of delight. As I'm American, the essential cultural and linguistic British-isms gave them an extra layer of fantasy, because I never quite knew what was made up!

Even to this day, I always know I can pick a new DWJ book off the shelf without reading the blurb or knowing anything about the book and enjoy it.

Thank you for enriching my imagination and my life.

She's awesome. Fire and Hemlock, The Time of the Ghost and Howl's Moving Castle were my favourites. Thanks for the info.
