That cat looks a lot like it might be part Skogkatt or Maine Coon, too, and those breeds both have really dense, water-resistant insulating coats, and reputations for being much fonder of water than the average kitty.
I went and looked through the set again and skimmed the comments. You're right that it is a Maine Coon. He doesn't like getting his face wet, so he doesn't jump in. Instead, his owners gently place him in the water, and make sure to not dunk him or create big waves. And then they towel him off after he comes out, and try to make sure he is completely dry before taking him inside, because otherwise the air-conditioning gives him problems.
